
The first temple Dai Miao has been build during the Qin Dynasty. Since the beginning it was the main place of worship of heaven and earth
celebrated by the emperors who came to the mount Tai . Dai Temple often is referred as The Temple of the God of Mount Tai, or Dongyue Temple, named after the
one of numerous descriptions of Tai Shan mountain. The emperors first came to the small temple Yaocan Ting located outside of the Dai Temple walls,and after the shorts ceremony
entered Dai Mao through several gates leading to the Palace of Heavenly Blessings (Tian Kuang Dian ), built in 1008. Each gate opened to the inner courtyard on which was standing another one. The main ceremonies were held in front of Tian Kuang Dian, which features a spectacular view on Tai Mountain.
The life size models of the emperor and his court worshiping Fengshan ceremony are on display in adjacet gallery.
The back and side walls are covered with 62 m long mural showing The God of Mount Tai with his court on a journey around the mountain.
The temple preserves vast number of archeological findings, and cultural relics of great importance to China History, including large number of books about Mount Thai and Taoism.
In Dai Miao there are total 186 buildings mostly rebuilt in 17th century during Ming Dynasty, with numerous details remaining
from Qin and Han Dynasty ( c.a. 2000 years old).
In the eastern side courtyard there are 184 steels with ancient inscriptions, the oldest one has only several visible signs from the time of First Emperor, thus about 2 200 years old.
The Dai Temple is surrounded by the 2,100 year-old Han Dynasty cypresses.
